Miami Beach Edition
TRIP TYPE: Couples, Girls Getaways
ROOMS: The rooms at the Miami Beach Edition are very clean and bright with lots of whites and beige. We love their rooms with oceanfront views and a balcony to sit and listen to the waves. The glass is very sound proof so if there is anything going on outside the noise wont travel into the rooms. The rooms have a modern look with plush furniture and the amenities you would want in a five star hotel.
FITNESS: The fitness center was a good size with new equiptment. There are steamrooms in the locker room although we did not make use of them on this very short trip.
POOL: There are a couple of pools at the Edition steps away from the beach. The pools have floats for those who want to chill and spend the day relaxing.
BEACH: While the beaches are public they do have an area set aside with chairs and cabanas that are available for hotel guests only. Each guest can have a chair and umbrella or rent a cabana for $100 a day. The beach is kept very clean and has full service. We noticed they have toys like paddle boards to play in the sand.
RESTAURANTS: Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten offers his distinctive modern interpretation of Latin cuisine at Matador Room. Influenced by Spanish, Caribbean and South American flavors, the seasonal, locally sourced menu encourages sharing with both small and large plates. Market at EDITION is an imaginative reinvention of the classic 24-hour Miami Beach coffee shop. This 21st century food bazaar—part patisserie, part boulangerie, part salumeria—offers casual, gourmet, Italian-inspired food around the clock. We enjoyed a fabulous breakfast here, where everything from the coffee to the French Toast was perfect!
KIDS: The hotel does not feel like the best option for families traveling with kids.
ENTERTAINMENT: The Basement was a fun concept with bowling and ice skating! We found this to be a fun and refreshing idea for a hotel and spent the night bowling after our night out. We found it was a hot spot for couples on date night or small groups of friends looking for something different to do.
