Spontaneity
Going to a place you have been before can be comforting, but not much more exciting than the first time you were there. It is important to add more mystery and a little less planning to your vacations. Try going somewhere new and exciting to add some variety and flavor to the mix. Get a bit out of your comfort zone and try something you have never thought to do before.

The evening after our Virtuoso meeting we were invited as guests to attend a tasting event at the SLS South Beach. We had an amazing time at one of the hotest celebrity chef tastings in Miami. The SLS transformed tents into pop up restaurants utilizing all of their outdoor space. The food was to die for and the VIP event gave us the oppurtunity to meet the chefs with smaller crowds. One of our favorites were the Lobster Ravioli by Michael Schwartz who is set to open their new restuarant Fila at SLS Brickell.

TRIP TYPE: Couples, Girls Getaways
ROOMS: The rooms at the Miami Beach Edition are very clean and bright with lots of whites and beige. We love their rooms with oceanfront views and a balcony to sit and listen to the waves. The glass is very sound proof so if there is anything going on outside the noise wont travel into the rooms. The rooms have a modern look with plush furniture and the amenities you would want in a five star hotel.

So many memorable events can happen while you’re on vacation and traveling. One thing that I highly suggest is to keep a travel journal. Travel writing is like a window through which you’ll see your travels in the future, a place that brings meaning to your travels. Here’s what to do to get you started;
Documenting Your Itinerary

TRIP TYPE: Family staycation in Naples.
ROOMS: Our room was what you would expect from a Ritz Carlton. Traditional decor with all the amenities you would need for both the kids and adults alike. The clothes line that was built into the shower was very handy for drying bathing suites after a full day of swimming. The cookies delivered to our room sure did surprise and delight! If you havent had a cookie here yet, these is the best (and biggest) cookies I have ever had.

ROOMS: Not a bad view in the house. There are several buildings of guest rooms all with three-four stories, one of which is adults only, for those traveling without kids. All three buildings offer a water view due to the location on the isthmus. The rooms were very spacious all offering a nice lanai to sit out and relax on their plush lounge furniture with views of the bay or ocean mixed with tropical forest scenery. This is a great place to spot the howler monkeys or many species of bird.

We hear people say, “Travel as much as you can before you have kids” and although that has its own perks, vacations with the family can be both enjoyable and memorable for everyone. A few important reasons why you should pack up and travel with the fam:
The world is enormous. Spending time away from your home, where nobody knows you, makes you realize the world is much bigger than your hometown. Being able to step away from life as you know it helps to realize you’re a small fish in a very big sea.
