A Family Safari of a Lifetime
What began as a wish on the top of a bucket list became the trip of a lifetime for Tom, myself, and fourteen of our family members and friends. We worked with our trusted travel advisor, Jen Mitchell, in collaboration with Travel Beyond. They listened to our wants and needs, then created an itinerary for a safari to East Africa (Kenya and Tanzania) that exceeded our expectations. We had a fantastic guide, Fraser Gear, who planned some surprise activities at camps which added to the experience. We had on the ground support from Bush & Beyond Ltd., who checked in regularly to make sure things were going smoothly. The camps where we stayed- Lewa Wilderness, Cottar’s 1920s Camp, and Singita Sabora were all great. It was hard to choose which one was our favorite. There were animals galore, the Great Migration, a morning hot-air balloon ride over the Serengeti, a Masai village visit, and many other experiences too numerous to mention. As I have heard Tom say more than once, “The trip was flawless from beginning to end!”. We are grateful to have had the support of Jen and her team for this wonderful journey. As a result, we are going back next year, taking the kids and granddaughters to introduce them to life on safari.
